Grace. We’re not going to do this one worded theme every year, we promise. But in all seriousness, if it wasn’t for grace we wouldn’t be where we are today. This year we learned so much about grace. Grace from God, but also grace for ourselves. You see, this year was truly different. Different in the most mesmerizing way but also the most challenging at the same time.

This year our baby was in the mix. For those who are not parents yet, it feels like a lightyear went by and honestly we’re scratching our heads wondering how we made it through. But it was a year full of amazing moments and amazing firsts. It was the first time we heard our daughter say her first words, and how we exploded with excitement as we witnessed her taking her first steps. The fun we’ve had watching her having these serious conversations on the remote control playing telephone. We call them her “business calls”.

But to say we didn’t struggle would be a lie. We had a hard time trying to find the perfect balance in being full time parents as well as still working in the business we love. Writing emails in the a.m. while sleep deprived, working during her naps and trying to think if blogging or cleaning bottles were more important at the moment. It took us almost a year to give grace to ourselves. We learned to accept that not everything will be perfect and we had to be ok with that. But getting there has allowed us to reach a place of comfort with ourselves and we have been able to enjoy the blessing of working and watching Laelle at the same time. It was a blessing not missing any of her milestone moments and witnessing all of her firsts. We’re so thankful for this past year and are so excited for 2018.
