Manic Musings | Vol. 5

Goodness gracious, where has the time flown off to? Leo is now almost going into his 7 months (7 months!!!) and we just cannot believe how fast that much time has gone by. It’s literally been insane since we’ve become a family of 4 (plus two crazy dogs). Here is a bit of what we’ve been up to since the past half year or so.

– Whenever we heard other parents talk about how having two kids wasn’t really double the hardship but more like quadruple, we never understood why until now. In our minds we thought that since we’ve been through it once, we would be able to use our knowledge and breeze by parenting on the second child, but heaven’s sakes no, we were so terribly wrong. Leo is a completely different child from Laelle, with different needs, different interests, personality etc. and everything was so brand new all over again other than changing the diapers.

– We also learned that Leo, apart from having a killer smile, was an incredibly fussy baby that required an extreme amount of attention which made getting anything done nearly impossible. Julie was barely able to put him down at all the first three months and trust us, we’ve tried the advice of just leaving him be to see what would happen and he screamed blood curling murder until he was blue in the face. Leo wins.

– But now being 6 months in we are in a much better place and are able to sneak in work here and there (the most perfect excuse for a new laptop for Julie!) and also work though the late night since our baby boy was now angelically sleeping through the night. Hallelujah!

– Despite how chaotic things are these days Taeck is still managing the cooking like a champ. Even though it would be completely fine to just eat whatever (if ever) is available at that second, food is an important part of life for Taeck and he worked hard to make sure his family was well fed the entire time. Praise his soul.

– The warmer season is finally here and it’s been perking up everyone’s mood. The windows are open, music is playing, and children are laughing, even though that part only lasts a few minutes.

– And lastly, we sadly finished watching Game of Thrones because it was a show we LOVED and have been dedicated to watching for years and years and we didn’t want it to end. And because they killed off Dany and sent away Jon Snow. What?!?!?

Well friends that’s all for today! We look forward to catching up again soon on another Manic Musings! Hope everyone enjoy the beautiful spring weather!
